![]() ![]() ![]() It’s very dialogue heavy and every conversation in the game is heavily impacted by your stats and what you choose to say Yeah, it has virtually no combat but otherwise I’ve seen it heavily compared to the writing of Planescape Torment Its not going to translate well and have some seriously rough spots. Its like trying to use, say, regular FPS rules for a VR game. These rulesets are simply not designed for computer games, I don't get why they want to use them. But in a video game you run into an order of magnitude more enemies because its an order of magnitude faster to resolve since the computer is doing all the math, yet they keep the same hyper simplistic spells per day system so you end up 'sleeping' every 5 minutes instead of just going to an energy based system like every single designed for computers RPG uses. Spells per day is common in tabletop games because its super easy to do the math for, far easier than mana systems, and a tabletop session might only have a few encounters per session before you stop and rest. Then they put that into a singleplayer game with the player controlling a party and no GM, keeping all of the simplifications and basic math, and the weird rules that result from those. Its a system deliberately optimized for several people to control one character each using basic math with multiple other players, alongside a GM running encounters. I still question the logic of RPG devs that try to use tabletop game systems as a basis for video games. It's very solid and probably the best RPG since Dragonage Origins. I HATE so much of their intentional design, never mind all the initial balance and bug issues it has, but loved how inclusive they were with classes and specs. I have a love/hate relationships with Kingmaker. Regarding the overall quality of the 2 games. Their story's main beats are already written, they just needed to be translated into video game format. If there is something to be concerned about is both are modules from the Pathfinder universe. Wrath of the Righteous does a much better job in almost every department except it's companions who are on a whole a little worse then the kingmaker roster(though still solid). Some of the main story beats of Kingmaker were solid but it was buried under a whole lot of bloat and that got in the way of telling a solid story. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
